Here are all eight species of bear. Spectacled Bear, Polar Bear, Moon (or Asiatic Black) Bear, Brown Bear, Sloth Bear, Sun Bear, American Black Bear, and the Giant Panda.

The Bear Trust website is great and features facts about each species. Click on the species of bear you’d like to know more about and the link shall direct you to the relevant page.

Bornean sun bear cub, Duma, calls to his mom while exploring his Sun Bear Forest exhibit at the San Diego Zoo on June 28. This is the first time the four-month old cub, born Feb. 17, has left his den to explore the outdoor exhibit. Bornean sun bears are rarely seen in zoos, and Duma is the first ever to be born at the San Diego Zoo.
